Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional dichotomy of relief juxtaposed against dread. The chosen palette of dark maroon, red, gray, and pink evokes a sense of weight and warmth, reflecting emotional pressures. The arrangement is primarily symmetrical, with intentional breaks to signify disturbance—here, the collision occurs where the reds and pinks (relief) clash against deeper, heavier shades (dread). The 'mirror_broken' layout and diagonal flow enhance the tension, while breaks in symmetry depict areas of conflict and quietude. The result tells an abstract story of fluctuating emotional states: the bright and light against the heavy and shadowed.
