Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional tension between relief and dread, utilizing a palette inspired by ancient fire colors to manifest warmth against coolness. The contrast occurs primarily at the center where burnt orange punctuates the charcoal background, suggesting a conflict. The broken pixel elements introduce disruption that aligns with both dread and a quiet calm. The layout flows from the corner, reflecting a diagonal invasion of bright tones encroaching upon the heavy darker hues, echoing the themes in the seed. This creates a visual story of a persistent struggle between light and dark, and an imbalance that invites the viewer to contemplate unresolved feelings.
