Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional contrast of nostalgia and progress. The chosen palette of deep navy and muted cyan evokes a sense of calm mingled with underlying tension, portraying the complexity of past memories against the backdrop of future aspirations. The top half is deliberately filled with lighter colors, portraying the airy feeling associated with progress, while the lower half is laden with darker tones representing the weight of nostalgia. The zigzag flow suggests movement and fluctuation, a reflection of the constant push and pull between remembering and moving forward. There are broken pixels scattered throughout, introducing an element of imperfection that mirrors the fractured nature of memory, further interrupted by the stark contrast of white, creating a visual rhythm that captures unresolved emotions.
