Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional tension between control and surrender through a combination of stark contrasts and overlapping patterns. Utilizing the palette 'awe_terror', the deep teal and cosmic indigo evoke a sense of depth, while cold gold offers a striking visual disruption. The thick outlines suggest an attempt to contain the vibrant center, which represents the overflow of emotion, swaying between pressure and release. The center's luminosity stands in conflict with the dark outer edges, where the collision occurs most intensely, emphasizing a dichotomy of strength vs. vulnerability. The falling pixel layout enhances the feeling of descent, as if emotions are cascading downwards, unveiling layered narratives of solitude and connectivity.
