Artist Statement
The emotional tone is one of duality: the clash between defiance and submission is represented through contrasting colors and patterns. The palette of sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue captures a broken memory theme, suggesting both warmth and coldness. The main collision occurs in the center, where darker colors evoke defiance, while softer hues around the edges create a feeling of submission. The arrangement is asymmetric, reflecting the unevenness of the conflict, with broken pixels adding an element of imperfection and disruption, reminiscent of shattered continuity. This abstract pattern draws the viewer into an emotional journey through color and placement.
