Artist Statement
This piece captures the emotional conflict between nostalgia (soft blues and whites) and progress (deep blacks and reds). The upper section features soft dots representing nostalgia, which confronts the bottom-heavy strokes of deep black and vibrant red that symbolize the weight of progress. This layout creates a split horizontal balance, embodying the tension of rise versus fall, with broken pixels introducing a sense of imperfection which reflects the intricate nature of time and memory.
