Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy between longing and resolve. The color palette, featuring deep blacks and vibrant oranges, symbolizes the conflict of inner desires against firm decisions. The left half is dominated by subdued colors representing longing, while the right half features brighter shades indicating resolve. The pixel arrangement gives an impression of tension and distance, capturing the fluidity of emotions with occasional disruptions, as seen in the scattered light blues that interrupt the dense black. This reflects the concept of intimacy and distance in relationships, where one can feel a strong pull towards another yet experience barriers. The use of isolated pixels creates a sense of longing, akin to reaching across the void, enhanced by the structured chaos of the right side.
