Artist Statement
The emotional tone is a delicate balance between the dread of fear and the optimism of hope. The palette of deep blacks and dark violets encapsulates the heaviness of fear, while soft gold and pale green introduce the possibility of light and ascendance. The rows create vertical patterns that suggest pressure and rising hope, with the contrast between dark and light intensifying the narrative of struggle against weight. Jagged edges signify the turmoil of fear, while mirror-like reflections of lighter colors hint at hope peeking through the cracks.
