Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional struggle between restlessness and peace. The palette of muted dark maroon, soft pinks, grays, and bright reds reflects the tension of this duality. The darker shades create a sense of heavy pressure while the lighter hues suggest moments of calm. The primary contrast occurs centrally where layered patterns of 'ladder' (representing restlessness) collide with the 'braid' (depicting peace), creating an emotional conversation that feels alive yet conflicted. Broken pixels are strategically placed to reflect imperfections, echoing the idea of shatters and chaotic memories, while also leaving negative space that suggests potential serenity amidst the tumult. The upward movement in the layout hints at hope filtering through the dense emotional landscape.
