Artist Statement
This artwork captures the tension between longing and resolve. The use of warm red and cool pale blue juxtaposes urgency and calm, suggesting a struggle between feelings of desire and the clarity of purpose. The patterns—shatter for longing and fault line for resolve—create visible collisions throughout the artwork, especially at the center where the contrast is most pronounced. The intentional placement of broken pixels evokes disruption within the calm, symbolizing the effects of emotional scars. Negative space is maintained to enhance the sense of breathing and provide a quiet counterpoint to the busy, layered textures, encapsulating the essence of repair amidst damage.
