Artist Statement
This composition explores the tension between softness and severity through a juxtaposition of muted skin tones against stark dark contrasts. The palette includes powder pink and warm white to embody gentleness, while carbon black and steel gray provide weight and severity, amplifying the emotional collision at the center. The two distinct zones where color overlaps and interrupts—each pulsing outward from the center—represent opposing forces, suggesting both protection and exposure. Broken pixels introduce intentional disruption, reinforcing the theme of imperfection and echoing the fragility of the balance between these emotions.
