Artist Statement
This composition explores the tension between relief and dread through a stark contrast of warm and cool colors. The warm hues of #F3D250 and #FF9A00 clash against the cooler tones of #2A2D34 and #5E6E78, creating a visual drama that reflects the emotional push and pull of anxiety versus calmness. The dense clustering of darker shades in one corner suggests an impending weight, evoking dread, while the lighter colors disperse outward, indicating release. The shape seed of a line is expressed through the broken pixel arrangement, which introduces an element of disruption amidst an otherwise structured grid. This deliberate imperfection and varied density allow for a fluid interpretation of pressure and ease, leading the eye across the piece in a spiraling dance of feeling.
