Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a duality of awe and terror, with a palette that contrasts deep blacks and stark whites against the muted tones of pale blue and red. The top half captures the aspiration of 'awe' through a crack pattern of whites and pale blues, creating a feeling of uplift and openness. Conversely, the bottom half represents 'terror' through a maze-like pattern of reds and blacks, evoking a sense of entrapment and density. The sharp contrast between the two halves, especially where pale blue meets red, creates a collision of feelings, while the broken pixel elements introduce a sense of imperfection and unpredictability, echoing the theme of pressure and release.
