Artist Statement
The emotional tone of 'longing vs resolve' evokes a spectrum between yearning and steadfastness. The selected palette, featuring deep moss green and warm rust, contrasts the serene bone white, establishing a dialogue between fragility and strength. The collision of patterns is present at the center, where the mirror-like qualities of the longing intersect with the hinge-like aspects of resolve, creating an abstract echo of intentions. Broken pixels are interspersed throughout, symbolizing imperfections in our attempts to unite these feelings. Negative space provides breathing room, reinforcing the theme of yearning amidst resolute boundaries.
