Artist Statement
The emotional tone evokes a struggle between dread and relief, represented through a stark contrast in color choices. The palette of deep blacks, electric blues, and magentas communicates a spectrum of emotion—from heavy dread to fleeting relief. The symmetrical layout clashes with interrupted patterns of colors creating a push-pull effect, while negative space enhances the feeling of emptiness, symbolizing an empty room. The zigzag flow introduces unease, as the orderly shapes break and collide with darker tones, embodying the duality of hope and despair.
