Artist Statement
This composition navigates the emotional contrast between pressure and quiet. The palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach conveys a sense of calmness disrupted by moments of intensity. The main collision occurs at the center where darker colors converge, creating a visual tension with the surrounding quieter tones. The layout features stacked bands, which symbolize density giving way to a softer horizon, reflecting the idea of pressure being relieved. Broken pixels are strategically placed to evoke disruption, supporting the themes of shattering against a tide and hard edges versus softness, all encapsulated within an 8x8 kinetic dance of color and emotion.
