Artist Statement
This artwork embodies a tension between longing and resolve, utilizing a palette that suggests resilience and fragility. The moss green represents the earthiness of longing, while the bone white adds a stark contrast of clarity and resolve. The central cluster of darker colors represents the collision of feelings, surrounded by lighter tones that create a serene backdrop, suggesting a quiet space amidst dense clusters of emotion. Broken pixels are used to signify imperfections and the remnants of past experiences, reflecting the theme of repair and damage. The zigzag pattern of the threads arises out of the emotional push-pull, manifesting a narrative of longing infused with urgency, contained yet overflowing in expression.
