Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tension between defiance and submission through a carefully selected palette and layout. The left side features stronger, darker hues symbolizing defiance, while the right employs softer, cooler tones representing submission. The collision occurs centrally, where the angular patterns of 'defiance' abruptly interact with the softer, cross-hatched patterns of 'submission.' This layered approach reflects the spiral motion of inward feeling while allowing space for both conflict and resolution, creating dynamic echoes of emotion.
