Artist Statement
This composition channels the emotional tension between 'nostalgia' and 'progress'. The use of a stark black and white palette creates a vivid contrast that echoes the push-and-pull of these emotions. The rising pattern suggests gradual uplift and hope, while irregular placements reference the imperfections of human experience. The collision occurs through reversed color placements, making certain areas dense while others display negative space which evokes feelings of release.
