Artist Statement
This composition reflects the contrast between safety and exposure, capturing an emotional tension where the edges are strong, representing safety, while the center embodies exposure with lighter tones. The palette was chosen to evoke a balance between sheltering greens and warm browns against the pale skin and cold white, symbolizing vulnerability. The primary collision occurs in the center, where the soft pale colors push against the darker borders, creating an echo of tension that invites the viewer to reflect on the idea of protection amidst exposure. The rhythm flows from the darker edges to the light center, creating a pulse of emotional depth.
