Artist Statement

The emotional palette reflects the complex duality of dread and relief, using deep storm gray and nearly black for the tense areas, symbolizing pressure and an impending sense of dread. In contrast, soft sky and faded gold introduce elements of hope and release. The layout opens towards a corner, allowing density to transition into lighter, negative space, creating a visual flow like an exhale. Using crack and ripple patterns creates a collision of textures that emphasizes emotional depth without direct representation. The broken pixels intentionally disrupt the flow, mirroring moments of hesitance in emotional transitions, emphasizing unpredictability within control.
