Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy of desire as bold and saturated hues contrasted against the muted restraint of cooler tones. The palette of hot coral, blood orange, and dust pink represents the intensity of desire, while charcoal and hollow blue illustrate the notion of restraint. The dense center illustrates an overwhelming pull of desire, congested with heat, while cooler frames create a lattice of containment struggling to hold the vibrant core. The spiral flow of heat radiates outward, interrupted by the quiet energy of the restraint, symbolizing the tension between these two forces.
