Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a struggle between defiance (represented by bold, broken dots of vibrant colors) and submission (shown as structured, stepwell patterns of muted tones). I used a palette of electric blue and hot magenta to create a stark clash against dead black and static gray—indicating a pulse of energy colliding with barriers. The main contrast occurs at the central left-right axis, with defiance dominating the left half and submission controlling the right, emphasizing their ongoing tension. This seed translates into an abstract layout where the horizon shape is symbolically present, prompting a narrative of rising pressure amidst structured chaos. The negative spaces enhance the tension, allowing emotional breathing room within the design.
