Artist Statement
This piece encapsulates the emotional tension between dread and relief through contrasting elements. The dark hues of '#000000' and '#444444' suggest heaviness and the oppressive nature of dread, while the pale tones of '#A3D9D1' and '#F8E4A4' provide a cooling, relieving counterpoint. The composition flows downward in a zigzag pattern, as if heavy drops of emotion spill quietly into a spacious void, creating both density and relief. The collision occurs at the center with alternating colors disrupting the space, representing the struggle between pressure and liberation. The broken pixels represent the imperfections in this emotional landscape, echoing the fractured nature of these feelings.
