Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional contrast between tension and freedom, representing the interplay of panic and control. The selected palette of dark maroon, pink, red, and gray evokes deep emotions and reflects complex relationships, akin to love and betrayal. The upward movement on one side suggests rising hope against the downward pull of despair, while the broken edges signify disruption. The pinks stand out against the darker shades, creating collisions that reflect the push and pull of those emotions in motion. The layout allows for negative space which prevents overwhelming pressure, subtly hinting at calm amid chaos.
