Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional dichotomy of loneliness and connection through a grid that emphasizes tension and resonance. The chosen palette of muted sepia, tan, dust gray, and faded blue reflects the somber yet warm essence of memory, tying closely with the concept of 'broken memory.' The left side, dominating in darker hues, symbolizes loneliness with maze-like patterns, creating a sense of isolation. In contrast, the right employs a target pattern, showcasing brighter tones that draw the eye, invoking feelings of connection. The main contrast occurs in the stark boundary between the two sides, where darker tones collide with the warmer accents, representing the struggle between isolation and interaction. The single pixel and broken elements serve as reminders of fleeting connections amidst the surrounding emotional weight.
