Artist Statement
The artwork embodies a narrative of emotional conflict through opposing contrasts of warmth (shades of magenta) and coolness (electric blue). The top rows, invoking 'desire', feature aggressive and bold magenta pixels in jagged formations that surge upwards, representing longing and intensity. Meanwhile, the lower rows, representing 'emptiness', are cooler and softer with electric blues in more stable patterns, reflecting a calming release. The palette embraces a functional dichotomy between vibrant and subdued tones, mimicking the emotional pull and release experienced in a state of tension. Broken pixels create imperfection, enhancing the emotional complexity, while the diagonal flow accentuates the overarching theme of rising desire against a backdrop of emptiness. This creates an engaging mosaic that speaks to the collisions of feeling captured by the seed.
