Artist Statement
The emotional tone is a dance between trust, represented by soft amber and warm coral, and suspicion, expressed through cold slate and blue-black. The placement of warm colors on one side symbolizes a warm, stable base, while cool tones on the opposite side evoke feelings of caution and observation. The use of jagged edges introduces disruption and imperfection, reflecting the border of trust being tested by suspicion. The contrasting elements briefly collide at the vertical center, creating a tension that echoes the theme of connection versus alienation. Negative space is used to support the emotional shift, allowing the colors to breathe. This abstract pattern emerges from the concept of resilience and fragility as the two emotional states fluctuate.
