Artist Statement
This artwork explores the emotional tension between loneliness and connection through contrasting palettes and patterns. The left side, embodying loneliness, uses darker shades, represented by a grid pattern that hints at isolation. In contrast, the right side bursts with lighter hues, embracing a radial pattern suggesting warmth and proximity. The collision occurs at the midsection where the darkness of loneliness meets the light of connection, illustrating the struggle between these feelings. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green reflects the duality of fear and hope, while negative space enhances the sense of contrast, inviting contemplation of the unseen connections that lie beneath the surface.
