Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy of love and betrayal through contrasting color palettes. The upper four rows, resonating with love, employ warm tones such as pink and soft red, creating a feeling of affection and safety. In contrast, the lower four rows illustrate betrayal by employing cool grays and dark maroon, invoking feelings of coldness and fracture. The layout combines soft rain patterns in the top half with sharper, flame-like textures below, while the diagonal flow suggests a rise and fall in emotion. The broken pixels introduce an element of imperfection, adding depth and a sense of tragic beauty to the composition.
