Artist Statement
The emotional tone explores the push and pull between loneliness and connection, using a palette of deep black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green. The left-heavy arrangement serves to accentuate feelings of loneliness, where the contrasting golden tones represent fleeting moments of connection. The collision occurs in the center, where clustered patterns of broken dots intersect with more cohesive crosshatch patterns, suggesting disruption and false resolution—a metaphor for fractured memories and abandoned connections. The negative space throughout adds weight, representing both isolation and potential.
