Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece centers around the friction between defiance and submission. The chosen palette of pale aqua, mist gray, alarm red, ink blue, and clear white creates a sense of calm disrupted by bursts of intensity, embodying the struggle of resisting versus yielding. The primary contrast occurs in the middle rows, where the red sharply interrupts the calm blues and grays, suggesting confrontation at the core. The broken pixels introduce scars, symbolizing past conflicts, while the pattern types of 'broken dots' and 'barcode' reflect the chaotic interaction of the emotions, swirling and colliding. This arrangement named 'center_seed' allows a central culmination of these feelings dominated by the stern calm of gray and blue acting upon the vibrant tension of red.
