Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional contrast between clarity (signal) and confusion (noise). The primary palette of deep navy and muted blacks creates a foundation of density, symbolizing noise, while touches of bright white and dim cyan break through as a signal of hope and clarity. The structured arrangement of rectangles interrupts the otherwise chaotic background, creating a visual pulse in the center that draws attention, embodying the struggle of finding signal amidst static. The overall composition adheres to the 'open_gate' layout, suggesting an attempt to let clarity in, while also maintaining areas of 'negative space' to heighten the sense of isolation prevalent in the themes of exposure vs shelter, and memory vs erasure.
