Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional conflict between control and surrender through contrasting shapes and colors. The color palette blends soft hues of ice blue and warm warning orange to signify the tension of dominated spaces versus gentle releases. The use of ink black and violet gray serves to create weight and shadows, enhancing the feeling of constraining pressure. The collision occurs predominantly at the center, representing the overfilled aspect of this struggle, where darker colors meet the softer tones, hinting at a battle for space and presence. Broken dots scatter around the edges, suggesting imperfections and disruptions in the controlled spaces, while the central area is filled with a softer scar pattern, symbolizing surrender. This arrangement strategically leaves negative space to allow emotional breathing, embodying the delicate shift from rigidity to fluidity.
