Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional struggle between fear and hope through contrasting colors and textures. The left half, embodying fear, is rendered in dark, muted tones representing pressure and jagged edges, while the right half symbolizes hope with lighter, glowing accents, suggesting upward flow and a rising theme. The vertical split promotes a sense of conflict and dichotomy, while the insertion of broken pixels introduces imperfection, echoing the complexity of these emotions. The overall color palette of blacks, dark violets, soft golds, and pale greens creates a visual narrative of the balance (or imbalance) between despair and optimism.
