Artist Statement
The emotional tone embodies the tension between loneliness and connection, represented by contrasting colors and placements. The palette of black, lime, electric blue, and magenta invokes feelings of isolation (black) and brightness (lime, electric blue, magenta). The central section remains relatively dark, punctuated by bursts of brighter colors, suggesting a spark of connection amidst overwhelming loneliness. The flow from right to left and the asymmetric distribution mirror the feeling of seeking connection while battling weighty emotions. The composition intentionally leaves negative space to amplify this feeling of solitude, with some 'broken' pixels disrupting the flatness, symbolizing fragmented memories.
