Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional tension between relief and dread through a juxtaposition of colors. The palette combines soft, paler hues representing relief with dark, heavy shades symbolizing dread. A central radial pattern disrupts a surrounding crosshatch, creating a feeling of pressure as bright embers (faded gold) clash with the encroaching shadows (near black) in a dance of tension and release. The broken pixels introduce an imperfection, evoking the unpredictability of emotions.
