Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tension between desire and restraint. The palette utilizes deep reds and muted tones, symbolizing the pull of desire against the boundaries of restraint. The warm red oxide marks contrast sharply with the cooler muted cream and blackened plum, creating a visual echo of desire's vibrant energy wrestling against the calming, contained qualities of restraint. The main contrast occurs centrally, with dense patterns of dots colliding with braided sections, forming a pathway that invites exploration yet remains bound in spaces of negative clarity, representing a quiet channel of unfulfilled longing amidst bursts of expressive color.
