Artist Statement
This piece evokes a conflict between joy and grief, with warm yellows and oranges representing joy juxtaposed against the muted blues and purples of grief. The layout splits the canvas vertically, embodying the contrast between light and heavy emotions. The zigzag flow instills a sense of dynamic movement between these emotions, while burned edges reflect imperfection and fragility. Broken pixels interrupt the rhythm, conveying the raw nature of emotional experiences, with a significant negative space representing unresolved feelings.
