Artist Statement
The composition illustrates a dichotomy between the bold, angular patterns of defiance in pale aqua and alarm red that occupy the upper half, symbolizing strong resistance. The lower half, expressing submission, is softer with mist gray and quiet white ring patterns, embodying a lowering softness in contrast. This vertical collision of assertive lattice and calming rings creates a dynamic tension, enhanced by broken pixels that disrupt symmetry, simulating both conflict and cohesion.
