Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional dichotomy between love and betrayal through a split layout. The top four rows represent love with warm pink and red hues, evoking a sense of warmth and connection, while the bottom four introduce deep grays and dark maroons reflecting the coldness of betrayal. The contrast is primarily vertical, embodying both emotion extremes in proximity, suggesting an ongoing struggle. Each section features disrupted patterns, where soft flames encounter sharp, stair-like structures, symbolizing love's warmth colliding with betrayal's harshness. The broken pixels serve to enhance the sense of imperfection, embodying the idea that love can be marred by the threat of betrayal, echoing the complexity of these intertwined feelings.
