Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional contrast between softness and severity through a palette that juxtaposes warm whites and powder pinks against the starkness of carbon black and sharp crimson. The predominant use of muted colors, like warm white, allows for a gentle entry, representing a soft edge, while the scattered patches of sharp crimson establish moments of intensity. The halo void layout creates a hollow center that evokes the quiet space of forgiveness, surrounded by dark boundaries that symbolize guilt and severity. Broken pixels add intentional disruptions, symbolizing emotional scars, while the density at the edges shifts towards an openness in the center, telling a story of gradual release.
