Artist Statement
This abstract composition embodies the juxtaposition of softness and severity through a blend of colors that create emotional tension. The palette focuses on powder pink and warm white symbolizing softness, contrasted sharply with carbon black and sharp crimson which embody severity. Rows of soft stair-like patterns clash with dense flood-like bands, creating a narrative of an emotional spectrum where light pierces darkness. The arrangement of colors starts with heavier, darker hues at the bottom, signifying weight, leading into lighter colors that suggest a release toward the top, echoing the sensation of gradual lifting pressure. This gives a sense of an open gate, inviting viewers into an emotional journey.
