Artist Statement
The emotional tone is a juxtaposition of 'panic' and 'control'. The chosen palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green represents fear contrasted with hope. The outer rows are darker to symbolize panic and chaos, with jagged edges that create tension against the inner core of softer tones, radiating calmness. The 'crosshatch' pattern of panic clashes with the smooth transition of control, denoting an emotional struggle. The arrangement suggests an expanding chaos from the edges towards the center, embodying a powder keg of emotion that seeks stability. By introducing broken pixels, the design becomes imperfect, further capturing the essence of emotional turmoil.
