Artist Statement
The emotional tone juxtaposes the silent calmness of 'quiet' against the overwhelming sensation of 'pressure'. I selected a muted palette that includes off-white and dust gray to represent the quiet, while compressed red and dark navy symbolize the pressure and intensity. The collision occurs in the center, where darker shades gather densely, breaking free into lighter colors that travel outward, mirroring a release of tension. This layout illustrates an overfilled center struggling against the edges, emphasizing the conflict between pressure and the space it wishes to fill. The patterns of 'spark' and 'noise' overlap, creating a dynamic flow that suggests movement from chaos to calm, and contributes to a sense of clarity amid confusion.
