Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional tension between certainty and curiosity, exploring the wavy dynamics of structured progression against chaotic exploration. The selected palette merges rich deep wine and warm ivory to signify emotional weight while introducing ash gray as a soft counterbalance, invoking a sense of curious exploration. The checker pattern of certainty collides with the irregular ash field as they occupy opposite wedges of the square, creating an intriguing juxtaposition. The central disruption is represented by the broken pixels veering into the structured area, indicating the rise and fall of two opposing sentiments, while the soft gold serves as a reflective calm space, allowing for contemplation amidst the tensions.
