Artist Statement
The emotional tone reflects a balance between longing and resolve, embodied through the use of muted colors which symbolize quiet pressures and soft tensions. The palette of off-white, dust gray, compressed red, dark navy, and faint peach creates a juxtaposition between serene backgrounds and sharp accents, capturing the emotional conflict. The central collision occurs in the middle rows, where compressed red interrupts the muted gray spaces, signifying a burst of resolve against an otherwise calm expanse. Broken pixels represent tears in the narrative, hinting at damage but also potential for repair, aligning with the thread of connection that ties longing to resolve. The layout is asymmetrical, following the flow from right to left, suggesting a journey through the emotional landscape.
