Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional dichotomy of control versus surrender through the interplay of dense color and negative space. The central area is saturated with muted yet warm tones of pale mint and faded gold, symbolizing an overfilling of emotion, while the storm gray and near black colors provide a heavy border that struggles to contain it. The contrasting patterns of 'stairs' for control and 'constellation' for surrender visibly collide, creating interrupted rhythms that symbolize the stutter step between the two states. The pixel bleed edge style introduces intentional disruptions that reflect the imperfections of emotional experiences.
