Artist Statement
This piece encapsulates the emotional dichotomy of loneliness and connection. The chosen palette of pink, red, gray, and dark maroon represents warmth, affection, and loss. The central burst of vibrant reds contrasts with the surrounding softer grays, reflecting the tension between clashing emotions. The layout follows a diagonal flow, starting from the corner, creating a crack pattern of loneliness amidst spark-like connection points that interrupt the grid. The soft edges and strategic negative space evoke feelings of hidden depths and the complexity of being both seen and invisible. The absence of symmetry enhances the emotional narrative of an ancient fire—flickering but burning nonetheless.
