Artist Statement
The emotional tone juxtaposes longing with resolve, which inspired a dynamic interplay of colors. The palette utilizes soft gold and warm ivory as accents against deeper, more muted tones like ash gray and deep wine, reflecting both hopefulness and melancholy. The central contrast converges in the upper-left, where darker colors suggest longing, while lighter shades create a sense of clarity and resolution. The patterns, representing rain (longing) and fault lines (resolve), overlap, conveying a push-and-pull separation. Broken pixels are dispersed, creating intentional disruptions reminiscent of imperfection and repair, resulting in a vibrant and emotionally resonant abstract composition.
